Synopsis
Ths study focuses on the thermal design fundamentals of boilers, steam generators, evaporators in process and chemical industry, condensers and evaporators for heating ventilating and air conditioning systems and condensers for power industry. These types of two-phase flow heat exchangers are vital components for power generation, chemical processing and thermal environmental control. Engineers in the fields of power, process, nuclear and air-conditioning are concerned with the design of a variety of equipment for vaporization, including steam generation, evaporators, reboilers, condensers and chillers. The book describes the numerous types used in practice, and discusses their merits and features. Other topics covered include correlations and design procedure for thermal and hydraulic design; numerical examples to illustrate the procedure of calculations; fouling; strategy of heat exchanger design; and evaporators and condensers for refrigeration and air-conditioning.
