Designed for introductory courses in human anatomy, this text assumes no previous study of the human body. Instead, this book helps to facilitate a basic understanding of this broad discipline by presenting data, unified concepts and vocabulary in a manner that is easy for students to understand. Although the focus is on anatomy, links are made between structures and functions to help students understand anatomical concepts. The understanding of structure and function is further enhanced by considering defects and disorders in clinical settings. Organized by systems rather than regions, each chapter of this seventh edition has been revised. This text's coverage of the human anatomy is now complemented by new features, including questions with figures, colour anatomy photographs, improved readability, phonetic pronunciations, and more exhibits.

About the Author:
JERRY TORTORA is a Professor of Biology and former Biology Coordinator at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey, where he teaches anatomy and physiology as well as microbiology. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Farleigh Dickinson University and his master’s degree in science education from Montclair State College. He is a member of many professional organizations, such as the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS), the American Society of Microbiology (AAAS), national Education Association (NEA), and the Metropolitan Association of College and University Biologist (MACUB).

Above all, Jerry is devoted to his students and their aspirations. In recognition of this commitment, Jerry was the recipient of MACUB’s 1992 President’s Memorial Award. In 1996, he received a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) excellent award from the University of Texas and was selected to represent Bergen Community College in a campaign to increase awareness of the contributions of community colleges to higher education.

Jerry is the author of several best-selling science textbooks and laboratory manuals, a calling that often requires an additional 40 hours per week beyond his teaching responsibilities. Book Description Condition: Acceptable. LIGHTNING FAST SHIPPING! A heavily used, but still working copy. Coffee stain and wrinkling to the edge of the pages when a tired undergrad fell asleep and knocked their cup over on their books. The binding and pages of the book have been reinforced with tape, has tape and stickers on the cover, as well as lots of notes (some of the answers in the learning activities may be filled in) on the pages. Definitely not pretty, but it's a working copy at a great price that ships fast. ~ Book does NOT contain an access code or CD/DVD. Seller Inventory # #40D-00038
