Synopsis

The completely revised and updated edition of the Wiley classic guide to export and import financing

Since 1974, Export–Import Financing has been the "bible" for international traders, entrepreneurs, U.S. and foreign bankers, and students of foreign commerce and banking. Totally revised and updated, this fourth edition is an invaluable guide to all aspects of export–import financing, including coverage of the latest tools, examples, and techniques for financing all types of international trade, through every stage of the process. No other single reference supplies such clear, easy–to–understand guidance on how export–import transactions are executed, the financial roles of lending institutions in financing, and how new legislation has affected international trade. And none comes close to offering the range of current examples and samples of financing forms, sales contracts, and letters of credit users need to navigate the labyrinth of international trade.

  • Covers new areas of risk for import–export, new regulations governing documentary credit, new swaps and arbitrage techniques, and new strategies for obtaining credit for trade in emerging markets
  • Features a country–by–country breakdown of export–import financing rules and a comprehensive list of export credit insurers in major countries
  • Offers a thumbnail review of financing offered by the Export–Import Bank of the U.S.

HARRY M. VENEDIKIAN (Woodside, New York) is an International Trade Specialist at Chase Manhattan Bank. He teaches international banking and trading at New York University, Pace University, and the American Institute of Banking. GERALD A. WARFIELD is the author of The Investor′s Guide to Stock Quotations and How to Buy Foreign Stocks and Bonds.
