This third edition includes the expansion of a number of chapters to give more information; some figures have been amended to reflect this. A chapter on quality costs has been included and additional information on quality system documentation has been included in the form of appendices. The book uses the ISO standards on quality systems as basic documents and, since 1989 when the second edition of this book was published, additional standards on quality matters have been taken into consideration. Definitions, where applicable, are taken from ISO 8402:1986.
