Synopsis

Synopsis
Eleanor Samuels spends her working days writing recipes for low-fat versions of her favourite foods, sucking the buttery, creamy soul out of chocolate cheesecake and fondant gateau and replacing it with vegetable oil and low-fat spread. It seems as if the joy has disappeared from her life along with the heart of the dishes, and she seeks comfort in a large bowl of mocha fudge chunk ice cream. Then her beloved Uncle Benny falls ill, and Eleanor's whole life is torn apart. Unlike her sisters, she has neither a husband nor a full-time job, so it's up to her to care for her ailing uncle. The strain of becoming a full-time carer hits hard at first, but as Eleanor cooks her Uncle all his favourite things, nurturing him with the food he loves, she rediscovers her love of cooking, helped by the chef of a new restaurant in town...Long-buried family secrets come to the surface, fractured hearts get the opportunity to mend, and Eleanor finally allows herself the chance to become the person she has always wanted to be.
