Synopsis:
With the Fourth of July only days away, Lucky Hart can barely contain her excitement. Her team, the Cobtown Skyrockets, will play their rivals, the Ploomajiggy Unbeatables, in the newly invented game of baseball. Topping off the celebration: a burst of dazzling fireworks. But the anticipation fizzles when Cobtown is told that it no longer exists. A mouse has eaten a hole in the official county map and the part that showed Cobtown has been swallowed! The town has been renamed Carbuncle and Lucky's team becomes the Carbuncle Skyrockets - a name everyone dislikes. But even with spirits dampened, the Skyrockets take to the field in a game full of hard hits and very unexpected events.
About the Author:
Julia and Robert Van Nutt have been working together for twenty-five years. During this time, they have worked on numerous design jobs, from freelancing for The New York Times to working on sets and costumes for a Broadway play. In the last ten years, they have designed eight children’s books and six animated videos that were shown on national television.
The Van Nutts use history to guide them as they write and illustrate their Cobtown stories. With an amazing cast of characters and an in-depth study of everyday life in the 1840s, these stories–inspired by a hobby of collecting electric trains–take place in the village of Cobtown.
