Julius war für die theologische Laufbahn bestimmt. Das niedere Seminar blieb ihm er11part, denn er durfte in Stuttgart, wo die Eltern wohnten, das Gymnasium durchmachen und 1818 von da in das' hiesige Stift übergehen. Schon auf dem Gymnasium 8011 er sich mit Schriften deutscher Pbiloswhen ernstlich beschäftigt haben, und an der Universität begleiten rühmliche Zeugnisse sein philo sophiscbes und theologisches Studium und die Kirchenbehörde ordnet bereits seine Versendung auf ein Vikariat eu, im Dez. 1822. Hier wendet sich das Blatt. Mehl bittet davon erledigt zu werden, da er mit Vorbereitungen zu einer Reise nach Paris beschäftigt sei, für welche er wirklich im Februar des folgenden Jahres einen Ur laub bis Herbst 1824 erhalt.
