I like this comment. I do indeed think people need to face both the epistemological and ethical problems with which Christianity is confronted today. At the same time I feel humbled if I have helped some to understand that, in deserting the Christian myth, it does not thereby follow that they should cease to be decidedly spiritual persons, convinced that there is a dimension of reality which we have called 'God'.
This is indeed an academic book, but it is written in such a way that anyone of some education should be able to follow the arguments and think them through without difficulty.
