The final section, The Influence of New Technology, considers the relationship between computer systems and the music they are helping to create.

SIMON EMMERSON is Director of the Electroacoustic Music Studio at The City University, London. He is a composer mainly of electroacoustic music involving live performers. He was founder secretary of the Electroacoustic Music Association of Great Britain.
