Excerpt from The Jig of Forslin: A Symphony

From the Back Cover:
The Jig of Forslin was first published in 1916 and received wide critical praise and a successful sale. In 1930 it was included in Selected Poems of Conrad Aiken which brought him the Pulitzer Prize. In 1955 it was included in his Collected Poems. A long narrative poem, based on Freudian themes, it is subtitled A Symphony, and shows Aiken's remarkable skill in using words as music. Exciting, sensuous, hauntingly beautiful - once you have read it, you will never forget it, and will be eager to read more of the work of this great American poet in his Collected Poems published by Oxford University Press.
