Andrew Abel graduated with a Ph.D. in economics from MIT. After teaching at the University of Chicago and Harvard University, he accepted a position at the Wharton School of Business, where he has held the Robert Morris Professor of Finance Chair for 16 years. He is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a member of the Economics Advisory Panel of the National Science Foundation.
A prolific researcher, Abel has published numerous articles and books on economics, fiscal policy, capital formation, monetary policy, asset pricing, and social security.
In recognition of his teaching and researching excellence, Abel has been awarded the John Kenneth Galbraith award and honored as an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow, a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow, and a Fellow of the Econometric Society.
Ben S. Bernanke Since earning his Ph.D. in economics from MIT, Ben Bernanke has taught at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and at Princeton University, where he is currently the Economics Department Chair and the Howard Harrison and Gabrielle Snyder Beck Professor of Economics. In addition to teaching, he has served as visiting scholar for the Federal Reserve System in Philadelphia, Boston, and New York and is currently an advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
