Cosmic magnetism and its biological consequences
This book proposes a theory to account for some of the statistical evidence linking the state of the solar system at the time of birth with the personalities of individuals. It is based on the following evidence: (a)Statistical correlations between planetary alignments and the most violent forms of solar activity (b)Correlations between solar activity and terrestrial magnetism (c)The effect of the moon on the ground level magnetic field - known as the lunar daily magnetic variation (d)The ever growing body of evidence that the magnetism of Earth and its fluctuations do have biological effects on a variety of organisms from bacteria to humans. My main contribution to the debate has been to develope a mechanism, which I call magneto-tidal resonance, whereby planetary alignments can interact with the evolving magnetic field of the sun. My second innovation has been to provide a mathematical model for resonant coupling between certain changes in the earth's magnetism and the nervous system of humans. It is this interaction that provides the magnetic cue for babies of certain inherited characteristics to make their entrance onto the stage of the world, provided that the birth is no medically induced.
