Adunque la scrittura che vi presento, è un bellissimo Sermone, che intorno alla miseria dell' uomo fece S. Bernardo, recato a' volgare, nel secolo x1v, da scrittore ignoto, ma al certo Toscano, e secondo che ne pare da questo volgarizzamento, assai esperto e valente; nè prima d'ora, oh' io sappia, stampato mai. E dico che io s'appîa; da che non sarebbe da maravigliare, che altri ne tro vasse una qualche vecchia stampa, da me non conosciuta che a dir vero negli studi bibliografici non ispesi troppo tempo come già del Fiore o Fiorità d' Italia di Frate Guido da Pisa me trovai una io (e l' ho qui sul mio tavolino fatta in Bologna, per Ugo dei Rugerii, nel 1490 il cui secondo' libro, come cosa inedita, venne lo scorso anno, pubblicato in Venezia dal eh. Sig. Gamba.
