This book is an in-depth appraisal of Soviet-Cuban relations since the Cuban Revolution of 1959. Over the years massive amounts of economic, military, and technical aid have been given to Cuba by the Soviet Union, and by the late 1970's, Soviet-backed Cuban troops were operating in Nicaragua, Angola, Ethiopia, and other countries in Africa and the Middle East. Given the importance of these events, this book examines Soviet-Cuban affairs as a network within which influence flows both from and to the Soviet Union.
