The Author
Francesca Taylor is the principal of Taylor Associates, one of the City’s leading financial training companies, specialising in derivatives, capital markets, risk and treasury training. She has personally trained in major UK and international corporations, American, European and UK banks and ‘derivatives houses’. Francesca’s career began with BICC plc where she learned her basic treasury, FX and Money Market skills – from the client’s perspective. She then joined Midland Bank and became team leader in the Financial Engineering Group, concentrating on marketing, selling and trouble shooting the whole range of derivatives products to a client list including central banks, major and minor commercial banks, corporates and supranationals. She spent 12 months with Midland Futures, broking financial futures to a range of major financial institutions. In addition, it was Francesca’s responsibility to educate and train Midland’s client base in the uses and applications of a growing number of derivative products. Francesca then became a treasury consultant advising her clients on all aspects of currency and interest rate risk management. Notable clients included major utilities, banks and engineering companies. Following this, she spent time as an inter-bank swap broker with Sterling Brokers. During her career Francesca has followed each of the 4 major areas within banking and finance. She has been a corporate, a banker, a broker and a consultant, leading her to be ideally placed to offer independent training and product education to clients. Her company, Taylor Associates, has been highly successful and now offers a wide range of treasury, risk, general finance and complementary soft-skills courses to banks and non-banks alike. Francesca is a designated speaker for the ACI/FOREX Association, specialising in options, and has spoken at major conferences in the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.
