The Secretary of Commerce, under the 1967 amendment to the Flammable Fabrics Act, was authorized to conduct research into the flammability of products, fabrics and materials, conduct feasibility stud ies on reduction of flammability, develop flammability test methods and offer appropriate training in the use of flammability test. Methods. These responsibilities were delegated to the National Bureau of Standards.
