Carefully considering flow, in the nature of the case, mercy, which in its entireness consists in satisfying law, can be dispensed unto moral beings, violators of law, having free will, and being re sponsible, it soon comes clearly into view that this can be, in divine mercy shown to man, or mercy by man to his fellow-man, never, either (a) against or (b) wit/zeal l/ze will or (c) without t/ze act of those to whom the mercy is shown.
