Es war die Zeit, da nach romantischer Doktrin jeder, der für etwas gelten wollte, einen Roman schreiben musste. Und Mann und Winzer wollten offenbar für etwas gelten. Jeder von ihnen schrieb also einen Roman. Der Winzers, „iduna betitelt, erschien als sechste Lieferung des zweiten Jahrgangs eines „journals von neuen deutschen Originalromanen, das der unermüdliche Dienemann seit 1802 herausgab.
