Book Description Hard Cover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Edition. Hardcover with unclipped dust jacket, 252 pages, plus black-and white photographs;---extremely scarce in the illustrated hardcover edition; the later paperback edition did not include any illustrations;---very gently used ex-library copy with hardly a trace of shelf wear other than gentle bumps to spine ends, tight in binding, rebound in navy blue covers lacking the Andre Deutsch gilt lettering to spine, some barely visible faded traces of (food?) staining to fore edge and about fifty scattered pages including obvious pale faded butter finger stains to two photographs and roughly thirty of those pages (popcorn eater?), numerous pages corner creased, glued top edge of library issue slip and a label on free front endpaper, plain white label inside back cover, rubber stamp on title page, four-digit numeral stamped at bottom of last page, but absolutely no other library markings, all pages otherwise very clean and unmarked (in fact, the vast majority); DJ gently bumped along edges, numerous tiny chips and tears to hinge ends, gentle vertical creases to covers and flaps, usual spine label, front panel and spine very bright and colourful in jungle green with red and yellow lettering with an aircraft and dropped bomb in grey (spine colouring slightly faded).
