About the Author:
WILLARD PRICE was born in 1887 in Peterborough, Ontario. He held a special interest for natural history, ethnology and exploration and made numerous expeditions for the American Museum of Natural History and the National Geographic Society. He went on to edit various magazines on travel and world affairs and spent six years working in Japan as foreign correspondent for New York and London newspapers. He wrote fourteen adventure stories featuring Hal and Roger Hunt and travelled in seventy-seven countries before his death in 1983.

Book Description Original Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Pat Marriott (illustrator). First Edition. There is a small dent to the bottom edge of the rear panel of the boards where there is also a small dark mark near the bottom left corner but the boards are otherwise unmarked. Scattered brown spotting to the top edges of the pages. Small creases to the top corners of three pages at the back of the book, one small crease to the bottom corner of one page and a few faint spots to the front free endpaper but otherwise the pages are clean and unmarked. The jacket has a one inch closed tear to the top left corner of the rear panel which has been repaired with tape to the reverse and with some associated creasing diagonally up to the top edge. Tiny surface tear to the top right corner of the front panel where there is a faint mark on the white title panel and slight creasing to the edge of the front flap. Slight browning at the top of the rear flap and a little fading to the spine. Jacket and interior illustrations by Pat Marriott. First printing. Seller Inventory # 018295
