Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Acknowledgement and foreword by Francis Macnab. Blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper with white and blue coloured titles to the front panel black and white coloured titles to the back strip. In this book the author reports on the study of Dr. Francis Macnab and his staff on a particular condition that he called "suburbia neurosis" suffered by housewives. "Outwardly smart, poised, often well-to-do, these women are inwardly miserable, lost, uncertain of themselves, dissatisfied with their marriages, hard to live with, frequently alienated from their children, lonely and incapable of making friendships or feeling part of the community  indeed, desperate.'' -- from the front fold over panel blurb. Softening of the back strip edges with a little rubbing of the book corners. Uniform tanning of the textbook edges and pages. Faint offset tanning to the text block edges and pages.
