Review:
Organization

"I appreciate how basic sociological theory perspectives are introduced at the very beginning of the text and re-introdued in each chapter with each topic of social interest. This helps students see that there are clear applications of the material long after they have left the class..."
Michele Bogue, Texas Christian University

Pedagogy

"I think the boxed features were a great addition to the text.. Additional instructional features such as the summary sections, questions for critical thinking, and specialized box material: all of the resources in the text are quite good."
Michele Bogue, Texas Christian University

"The tables and figures are generally easy to comprehend, and useful. Good use of tables, text boxes, up-to-date statistics, summaries, terms & critical thinking questions."
Leslie Cintron, Washington and Lee University

"The boxed features were helpful and did serve to extend the basic content of each chapter in useful and meaningful ways."
Brian Hawkins, University of Colorado, Boulder

Design

"Having been a newspaper editor, I find the design and format of the book very well done."
Michele Bogue, Texas Christian University

"The textbook is colorful, contains a variety of content, including colorized content, and is easy to read - which is a plus for ongoing student participation throughout the semester."
Brian Hawkins, University of Colorado, Boulder

Content

"I am impressed with the breadth of areas covered in this text. I'm particularly impressed by the coverage of topical areas such as the sex trade and solving social problems."
Leslie Cintron, Washington and Lee University

Writing Style

"The greatest strength of the Kendall text is the manner in which the author integrates 'real world' examples which enables the students to better identify with the material and make abstract concepts more concrete and easier to relate to."
Jason Mazaik, Mass Bay Community College
