Michelle Magorian's first ambition was to be an actress and after three years study at the Bruford College of Speech and Drama, she went to mime school in Paris. At the same time she was secretly scribbling stories and ended up writing GOODNIGHT MR TOM, a Guardian Award Winner (among many awards). Since then she has written further novels, poetry collections, short stories and picture books. Michelle lives in London and continues to both act and write.
