About the Author:
Ronald Firbank (1886-1926) was the son of Sir Thomas Firbank, MP and grandson of a wealthy self-made railway contractor whose fortune enabled Ronald to travel extensively and to pay for the publication of most of his own work. He was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge but took no examinations. Dandy, aesthete, exotic, and homosexual, Firbank received little encouragement during his lifetime but nevertheless succeeded in creating a distinctive style in both life and his works
