About the Author:
Captain Frederick Marryatt was both author and naval captain. He wrote many sea stories, the most popular being PETER SIMPLE, JACOB FAITHFUL and MR MIDSHIPMAN EASY. He was the author of many other novels, but is best remembered for the timeless classic THE CHILDREN OF THE NEW FOREST. He died in 1848.
