About the Author:
Saki (1870 - 1916) was the pen name of British author Hector Hugh Monro. Saki was born in Burma and brought up in England after his mother's death in 1872. He worked as a foreign correspondant in the Balkans, Warsaw, Russia, and France, writing for The Morning Post before settling in London. There, he wrote short stories, plays, a historical study, and novels. He was killed during combat in War World I.
