Daisy's puppies are growing up and are full of beans but Daisy just wants to take things easy. Baby is their friend and wants to play but the three puppies and Baby all want to do different things. When they settle down to watch TV, Daisy wants to make herself smell nice and look pretty and everybody helps. No one wants to help Mum with the cleaning up - but everyone wants tea of course.

When Daisy the Dog has three puppies--Morris, Dolores and Little Daisy--it is difficult to tell who is a dog and who is a human baby.

Curled up in baby's pushchair, Mummy Dog Daisy looks and acts more like a human baby than could be imagined. But, as with all real babies, the wants and wishes of the mother, puppies and human baby in the household are not synchronised. When one wants to play, the others want to sleep; when one wants to hide the others want to play, and when the puppies and human baby want to watch TV, Mummy Dog Daisy isn't interested.

There are, however, three things that all agree on--everyone is happy to make a mess, nobody wants to clear it up and when tea-time comes, even human mummy is in agrees it's the best thing to do!

Delightfully blurring the boundaries between human and canine behaviour, Lisa Kopper will appeal to all young imaginations who think acting like a puppy could be perfectly normal. Soft, pastel illustrations by Hamish Hamilton complement the short, simple sentences that can be read by trainee readers and the whole is a loving, ultimately harmonious tale that will comfort young minds. About the Author:

Lisa Kopper was born in the US and moved to Britain after completing her studies at the University of Carnegie-Mellon, Pennsylvania. She started to illustrate books in 1979 and is probably best-known for her collaboration with Hugh Lewin on the JAFTA books. She works with children of all ages, talking about book illustration and drawing; and with adults on the Third World and multi-cultural illustration. Lisa lives in East London.
