The children in Davey's class are working on the Romans and there's to be a prize for the best piece of work. Davey is determined to win, but so is Molly and she has such good ideas. Davey plans a life-sized model of a Roman soldier to take to the Roman feast on the last day of term - surely even Molly can't compete with that. Transporting the soldier presents real problems but Davey's dad arrives home just in time to take Davey and the Roman soldier to the feast and they win the prize.
