9780072350807: Atlas Skeletal Muscles

This unique atlas is a study guide to the anatomy and actions of human skeletal muscles. It is designed for use by students of anatomy and physiology, physical therapy, chiropractic, medicine, nursing, physical education, and other health-related fields. This concise, compact reference shows the origin, insertion, action, and innervation of all human skeletal muscles. Students and instructors appreciate this atlas for the simplicity of the line art, which helps students learn the main structures without overwhelming them with detail.

From the Publisher:

Chapter One presents labeled line drawings of the skeleton, which include all structures that are used in describing origins and insertions in the later chapters.
The second chapter describes the various movements of the body, while the rest of the atlas then goes on to illustrate and describe the skeletal muscles.
Each muscle is presented on a separate page with a line drawing. The drawings include the following important features: 1. Bones and cartilage containing muscle attachment sites are shaded. 2. Adjacent structures are shown. 3. Muscle fibers are drawn by direction. 4. Muscle fibers are shown on the undersurface of bone and cartilage as dashed lines. 5. Tendons and aponeuroses are shown.
Throughout the text, each skeletal muscle is presented in a large format with detail and accuracy.
Headings entitled "Notes" can be found throughout the atlas.
The origin, insertion, action, and innervation of each skeletal muscle is conveniently listed with its illustration.
New Art! Chapter 2 has all new art, with improved depth and shading.
Now 2-color! The previous editions were black and white. We've updated the design for the 4th edition and made it 2-color.
