It is important however that users follow the instructions and picture each image in their mind's eye as vividly as possible, as well as testing themselves after each set of words are learned, or the method will not be effective

No method of learning works for ever, but if you follow instructions to picture each image for 10 seconds, do the tests on the course and translate the sentence examples, you will be amazed at how much you learn in a very short time.
