The nearly 9,000 one-sentence entries in this dictionary treating all aspects of environmental science are drawn from "McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific an Technical Terms" (6th ed., CH, Mar '03).

For all terms, the work supplies pronunciations and indicates primary fields, of which there are 29 including agriculture, biology, chemistry, engineering, geology, medicine, meteorology, and general science and technology.
