About the Author
Louise Erdrich is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibwe. She is the bestselling, nationally known author of such critically acclaimed books as the breakthrough novel, Plague of Doves, the National Book Critics Circle Award-winning Love Medicine, and National Book Award finalist The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse. She is also the author of the picture book Grandmother s Pigeon, illustrated by Jim LaMarche. The Birchbark House, the novel that began this series, was an NBA finalist, and the sequel, The Game of Silence, won the Scott O Dell Award for Historical Fiction.
