Synopsis

A photocopiable resource designed to help teachers assess pupils’ grasp of the key objectives. The pack contains paper and pencil tests for each key objective, together with an end-of-year test. It also provides formative assessment activities that can be used by teachers or classroom assistants.

· Individual assessment sheets: teacher's notes and a photocopiable pupil assessment sheet for each key objective.

· Adult directed tasks: tasks designed to be administered by a teacher or a support assistant to between one and six children.

· Yearly tests: a pencil and paper test, which assesses all of the key objectives for the relevant year group.

· Record-keeping templates: a number of record-keeping formats are provided to help teachers keep track of pupils' progress

Rapid Maths allows individuals or pairs to practise skills in the objectives of the Calculations strand of the Framework, using ITC. The content is also suitable for the relevant Scottish 5-14 Guidelines.

Each disk has four games, each with 3 levels of difficulty; two quizzes, each with 3 levels of difficulty, plus recording and diagnostic facilities for the teacher. (There are no quizzes at Reception level)

Pupils select their name from a list pre-recorded by the teacher. Quizzes are timed and the results recorded. Questions are random as default but can be pre-set by the teacher.

Rapid Maths gives constructive feedback, such as number lines or hundred squares, when pupils have difficulties.
