"Collins Soundbites" is a series of progressive, graded readers on three ability levels and reading ages, aimed at reluctant readers in Key Stages 3 and 4. There are three packs, one for each ability level. Each pack contains six copies of an illustrated reader on a different topic. Each reader addresses an aspect of the curriculum by means of telling a story, thus allowing SENCOs to encourage students' literacy skills while delivering the curriculum. Some basic technical vocabulary is introduced in each reader and defined both on the page and in a glossary at the end of the book. The story contained within each book is supported by some information in the form of carefully presented facts, figures and charts, selected to appeal to boys. A group of teenagers want to try riding a bike. Dan hangs back until the taunts of the others make him accept the challenge. Will the police find them in time?
