47th station : Seki (Departure from the inn) TOKAIDO RIVER JAPAN. The Fifty-Three Stations of the T kaid River.(1833 1834), is a series of ukiyo-e woodcut prints created by Utagawa Hiroshige after his first travel along the T kaid in 1832.[1] The runaway success of The Fifty-Three Stations of the T kaid established Hiroshige as the most prominent and successful printmaker of the Tokugawa era.
