Minor marks, blemishes or light reading wear commensurate with age else a lovely copy presented in a superb new bespoke binding by one of the UK s leading leather bookbinders. 'This reprint of William Tyndale's New Testament Of 1526 is issued on the occasion of the 450th. anniversary of the first publication. It has been taken from the only known complete copy of the text (which lacks the title page) in the library of the Baptist College, Bristol. The page size of the original is 5.75'' x 4.00''. This has been slightly increased for ease of reading and the rule surrounding each page has been altered accordingly. Marginalia added by readers have been removed. The original was photographed and printed on specially made antique laid paper' Superbly rebound in a delightful black gilt calf binding. Ornate gilt borders to the boards. Raised bands and gilt decor to the spine. Dated 1526 in gilt to the foot of the spine. Hand-tooled, gilt-lettered label to the spine.
