Both the title and subsequent leaf are on laid paper and integral. BAL 11896: "Copies occur with a cancel title-leaf printed on either wove or laid paper. Copies also occur with the title-leaf printed (on laid paper) as an integral part of the gathering. The significance has not been determined". Merle Johnson (American First Editions) had never seen a copy with integral title leaf.; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 328 pages.

This copy has some rubbing, edgewear and corner bumping, one tiny dent in the upper right side of the front cover, there are a few small bleach spots on the spine, front cover has moderate foxing. Text edges have moderate foxing, interior has yellowed severely and all endpapers have foxing, text block has separated from spine and there are two breaks, one between pages 6-7 and one directly in the center. The title page has been tipped in. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Complete with eight color illustrations, including frontispiece with tissue guard. (Sisson & Martens 30) (BAL 11896) A bright, near fine example. Jack London (1876-1916) was one of the first American authors to gain international fame and accumulate wealth from his writing. Despite his popularity, London never received any literary awards for his work. London is remembered today through retellings of his stories on film and television, most recently in a movie adaptation of The Call of the Wild starring Harrison Ford.
