A very good copy. Illustrated throughout by wood engravings, including frontispiece, with 24 pages in colour. 1995 reprint of title first published 1991. A lavish catalogue of all the fittings, furnishings and artefacts required to furnish a Victorian middle class home, with a useful introduction. The contents range from silverware to carriages, bicycles and gentlemen' tool chests. A facsimile edition of the original 1883 edition, entitled The Illustrated Catalogue of Furniture and Household Requisites. It was the product of the Silber and Fleming fancy goods warehouse established in London in 1856 by Albert Marius Silber (1833-87), of Schleswig Holstein, who came to England in 1856. In addition to manufacturing its own products the company acted as importers and exporters in British and foreign goods. It traded worldwide and also supplied the British government and many railway companies.
