Condition: Wie neu. Deutsche Erstausgabe. 259 (5) Seiten. 19,2 cm. Schutzumschlag: Klaus Detjen unter Verwendung eines Gemäldes von Edward Hopper: "Chop Suey". Sehr guter Zustand. Frisches Exemplar. - Jane Auer Bowles (* 22. Februar 1917 in New York; 4. . . Aus: wikipedia-Jane_Bowles. First printing. First edition of Jane Bowles's only novel, one of the great masterpieces of the twentieth century. John Waters, describing this novel as well as anyone ever has, wrote: "Once I read it, I felt insanely grateful to have gone beyond the door of literate lunacy into a world of complete obliviousness to emotional reality. I've never come back. Two Serious Ladies made a real reader out of me, and if you give it a chance, it will do the same for you." Furthermore: "For years and years I wanted to own the first edition of this hardback and I finally got it. Sometimes when I want to feel smarter, I sneak up on this volume on my bookshelf and kiss it." Follow his example. 7.5'' x 5.5''. Original red-stamped tan cloth. Red topstain.
