First edition, second printing in rust cloth boards with bumped tips & flattened spine showing color loss. 32 pp text water rippled but not stained or musty. Page block wobbly but all pp holding fine. Lovely dj in new mylar has tape pieces on flaps only, no call tags or lib markings save for a small non-sunned square where a formerly placed tag was carefully lifted leaving no damage whatsoever. Frt dj flap has a crescent shaped chip at fore edge of frt panel taking half of the title and first line of the blurb overview with it. Displays well on the shelf. Uncommon copy of this traditional tale with color Stobbs art throughout. The author/artist has given the story a Norwegian setting, which is authentic in every detail, and he's painted it in the same bright colors of a former book of his: The Little White Hen.
