Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Near-Fine condition 1st Edition/1st Printing in Near-Fine condition dust jacket inscribed, SIGNED, and dated by the author on the first free endpage. The inscription reads "To Dan & Madeline, Who knows what it is to be there, Love Paul S.F. July, 1970". Dan is Daniel Taradash, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter (From Here to Eternity) and former president of the Motion Picture Academy. Madeline was his wife. The book was purchased from his estate. The book has a faint streak on the half-title page, is otherwise completely spotless inside and out. None of the corners are bumped. It has just a hint of rub wear to the bottom edges of the covers and spine, and the bottom 1/16" of the spine is lightened slightly from exposure to sunlight. The only other defect is just a tiny bit of rub wear or scratching near the upper left corner of the front cover. The dust jacket is not price-clipped, is completely clean and has no chips or tears, but does have a 1/2" x 1/8" scratch near the upper left corner of the front panel and some wrinkling on the lower fourth of the entire jacket, as though it had been exposed to moisture, although there are no water stains on the book or the jacket. We will bubble-wrap the book to protect its corners and ship it in a sturdy box to ensure safe delivery. Inscribed by Author(s).
