Upper spine is sunned from missing jacket and has a forward lean, tips and ends are bumped and rubbed. 212pp text is age-toned with some foxing but text still visible and fresh-smelling. PON on FEP along with a sticker, Spine is starting to crack but all pages tight and holding. Not Exlib. A HORSEMASTER is a boy or a girl who is preparing to take the examinations given by the British Horse Society for its Preliminary Instructor's Certificate. This certificate qualifies its holder to be an assistant riding instructor, or to be a competent professional groom, or simply to be a well-rounded horseman. A horseman is a lot more than a person who can ride a horse; a horseman can own a horse-he knows how to take care of a horse, his stable, and his saddlery. A rider likes to ride horses; a horseman does, too, but a horseman loves horses and is willing to do as much for them as they do for him. People who are not horsemen sometimes own horses, but they should not be allowed to. To take the British Horse Society examinations, a boy or girl must be at least seventeen-and-a-half years old. The Horsemastership Course in the better riding schools of England generally takes fifteen weeks. Boys and girls from every walk of life and from every country in the world come to England to take the course and to have a wonderful time at play and at work- hard work-and to learn things that will stand them in good stead all their lives.
