Mary Cicely Barker (1895-1973) began this seasonal poetry series in 1923 with Flower Fairies of the Spring, a popular response to the interest in fairies generated by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Coming of Fairies (1922). The Summer volume was published in 1925 and the Winter volume was posthumously published in 1985. Duodecimo.
