Book
Hardcover/gebunden. Condition: gut. Sonderausgabe / Lizenzausgabe. (Wikipedia) In deutscher Sprache. 174, (2) pages. 8° (125 x 210mm).

Cloth. Condition: Very Good. In dustjacket, without clipped flap. Blue cloth covered boards with gold lettering along spine. Some white soiling/flakes stuck to bottom edges of boards. Appears to be unfortunate transfer from (probably painted) and sticky shelving. Otherwise this is vey good+/fine with tight binding. Clean, sound, without markings. Stated 'First Edition' on copyright page with this number string: 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3, meaning 3rd printing of First Edition. Affixed to front panel of jacket is silver emblem stating, 'Nominee for the 'Edgar' Allan Poe Award for Best Mystery Novel of 1985.' This was Auster's first novel published under his own name, after Squeeze Play (Avon, 1984) published under the pseudonym Paul Benjamin. For my money the first book of his New York trilogy, remains the author's best work, though he has published many other excellent books. And should be considered among the greatest American writers of the last half century.
