Book Description: Chatto & Windus, London, 1932. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket Condition: Dust Jacket. First Edition. First UK Edition. Publisher’s original blue cloth, spine panel stamped in gold, top edge stained blue, bottom edge rough trimmed. A tiny split in the cloth at the base of the spine and two small tape residue marks to both the front and rear end-papers otherwise a crisp and attractive VG++ copy. The D/W is also in bright VG+ condition with virtually no toning to the spine panel and a short closed tear at the head of the spine not affecting any lettering. At the base of the spine there is a small chip (matching the split in the cloth) that removes the bottom half of the IN in WINDUS. A lovely example of this striking D/W in totally honest, un-restored condition. Stands alongside 1984 as one of the classic dystopian novels and a bleak and despairing vision of future society. Huxley’s most celebrated work and a landmark of 20th century fiction. Bookseller Inventory # 355490712736

Book Description: Chatto & Windus, London., 1932. First edition. Octavo. 306 pages. One of the defining novels of the twentieth century, a dystopian vision which distils the fears arising from scientific advance, just as Orwell's 1984 did for those arising from the misuse of progressive political theory.Ownership signature at top of front free endpaper. Very good indeed in very good, chipped and slightly torn dustwrapper with repairs to the reverse. A pretty bright copy, the dustwrapper being unfaded. Bookseller Inventory # HUXLEYAL011751
