Hardcover. Condition: VG+. No Jacket. Reprint. This is a facsimilie reprint of Hocken's bibliography of books relating to New Zealand, which was first published by the Government Printer in Wellington in 1909. In republishing the book Newrick Associates noted that copies of the original rarely appeared on the market and that in this reprint ". every effort has been made to retain the character of the original." The reprint was limited to 1250 copies, of which this is number 734. In his introduction Hocken said "The literature relating to New Zealand is not only unusually interesting but is unusually extensive." First entry of his study relates to reports of Taman's visit in 1642. The bibliography section ends in 1908 and occupies 487 pages. This is followed by an addenda of 11 pages, then a Maori bibliography of 50 pages while a short varia section preceeds the extensive index which brings the total pagination to more than 600 pages.
