Two full novels - Amelia and Joseph Andrews, bound in one volume and published as Volume V of the 'British Novelists; comprising every work of acknowledged merit which is usually classed under the denomination of Novels' series. The title page indicates that the volume also includes 'Journey from this World to the Next' (also by Henry Fielding) but it does not and nor does it appear ever to have done so. iv, 10-305, [i], iv, 184, iv pages, with five full page engraved illustrations and containing brief critical analyses of each work by William Mudford. Half bound in leather over marbled boards, gilt titles and decoration to spine (boards worn, a little scratched on surface and rubbed a corners and spine joints). Marbled endpapers, upper text block edge gilded (and now tarnished). Internally neat, clean and tight barring some occasional mild spotting and fingering, and strain in gutter at base of title page spread. A large and heavy volume which may require an additional charge for overseas shipping.
