Hard Cover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good ++. Hardcover with unclipped dust jacket, second (1969) printing, 318 pages; very gently used ex-library copy with hardly a trace of shelf wear other than gentle bumps to spine ends, clear tape on both covers, considerable pale faded old (coffee?) staining to all edges and visible in the margins of many pages (30-50) with no affect on the text, card pocket with card secured to free front endpaper, library rubber stamp on title page and inside back cover; DJ in removable library mylar protector has just the ghost of a small spine label, some very light rubbing at hinge ends, one very tiny tear to back flap hinge bottom, but remains bright, clean and unmarked outside the mylar protector, a very respectable example. Cloth. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. First Edition. FIRST BRITISH EDITION AND PRINTING. The critically revered, inimitable icon's fourth work of fiction. "Spring 1968: while the streets of Paris reverberate with the student protest which is to sweep through the country in a wave of revolutionary fervour, an unlikely love affair springs up between Annie, an American expatriate painter whose contemporaries were Motherwell, Franz Kline and DeKooning, and Julian, affluent middle-aged banker and armchair anarchist. 'Love in the Days of Rage' is a lyrical and eloquent novella, beautifully recreating the vibrancy and sensuality, as well as the terror, of that turbulent spring, and examining the contrast between mature love and the spirit of youthful idealism." 116 pages.
