Age-related darkening; rubbing to spine ends and corners, a single darker stain to lower spine - overall, in very reasonable condition externally, with no significant damage. 315pp; predominantly bright, clean and well-bound- the odd leaf loosening, but attached, some very mild occasional foxing spots. All edges untrimmed and irregular, thus having some occasional minor tearing at margins. Of the 34 plates of b/w photographic reproductions listed, 33 are present as called for, in good order, and with neat, clean tissue guards having titles printed on them. The missing plate is 'Monastery at Mount Sinai'. Many of these photographs have gained in interest from a historical perspective, as have many details in the text. A journey through the Bible Lands now seen through the recent history of the Middle East. Very Good condition book in scarce Good condition dust wrapper with small chips to the spine tips and corners, small old tape residue mark sot the inside of the paper to the lower cover, priced 2/6, list of Whitcombe's achievements to the front cover. Dust wrapper supplied in archive acetate film protection, this preserves and prolongs the life of the paper, it is not adhered to the book or to the dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A. SPORT [Golf].
