. (illustrator). Near Fine/NF: Two flaws only, lower corner slightly bumped on bottom (very slightly, you must remove the jacket to detect the slight bump), & two tiny wrinkles in dj at top of spine: else perfectly Fine, i.e., clean, straight, unmarked, apparently unread. Hardcover, blue cloth, in jacket. The main character is a reputable copier of old master paintings whose sharp, charming wife leaves him. They have a tragic schizophrenic son, and perhaps because of this he gets involved with and marries waif-like Clio whose little son he loves and protects. Laid in extra is a long newspaper article from a U.K. paper by Nina Bawden about her own schizophrenic son and gaps in the U.K. "safety net", in which she chronicles his doomed progress. Paper is completely white and not stained. .
Interesting compilation with a number dealing with aspects of WWII. 60pp., Vgc+ in original green cloth, gilt.
